Ferlin Husky

Ferlin Husky, born December 3, 1925 in Flat River, Missouri. He joined the merchant navy at a very young age and already gave recitals for the troops. After the war, he became a DJ in Missouri, before settling in California where he adopted the pseudonym of Terry Preston. He recorded a country title in the early 1950s and then a honkytonk record with Capitol in 1953. The success was mixed, but this record allowed Ferlin to rub shoulders with some big names on the country scene such as Tennessee Ernie Ford or Jean Shepard with whom he records "A dear John Letter", a title which is a great success. From 1955, Ferlin changed his tune, fashion was rock'n'roll and he recorded "Slow down brother" in January 1956.
