Duke Robillard

Duke Robillard (born October 4, 1948 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island; actually Michael Robillard) is an American blues singer and guitarist.

Robillard first came to attention in 1967 in Westerley, Rhode Island as the founder of Roomful of Blues. In 1979 he left the band to become lead guitarist for Robert Gordon. After that, he was briefly a member of the Legendary Blues Band. In 1981 he formed the Duke Robillard Band, which was soon renamed Duke Robillard & the Pleasure Kings. After getting a record deal with Rounder Records in 1984, the band released a string of albums before splitting up in 1990.

That same year, Robillard along with Doug Bangham replaced Jimmie Vaughan in the Fabulous Thunderbirds, who split soon after. From then on, Robillard worked as a solo artist, releasing a variety of albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s. He is also featured on Chris Flory's album Blues in My Heart (2003). From April 5, 2013 he played for some concerts in Bob Dylan's band.
